Joe Booth’s Summary of 2020

Who will ever forget 2020? It was the year of unprecedented changes to our health, work, travel, communications and relationships. Of course, work was dramatically affected – our clients were fortunate to be able to push on through the disruption, but they had to make enormous changes and they asked us to oblige.

This meant that we had to reconfigure the way we had done things for the previous quarter of a century. These changes affected the way we: diagnose clients, conduct meetings, train and coach people, communicate to large groups and engage with them.

In December we completed a 12-month Lean Leader Programme which was a big success for the two reasons we value most: firstly 14 Leaders started the programme and all 14 completed the programme with no failures or drop outs. Secondly, the company generated huge benefits both tangible and intangible. For the latter we found many of the leaders came out much more confident than when they started.

We at access2growth love learning new skills, and 2020 gave us the perfect opportunity to do that. So what did we do in order to pull off these great changes? Firstly we adapted our 1-on-1 coaching and group training session over video conferencing – thank goodness for Zoom!

Secondly we brought a new team member on board with a fresh head full of innovative ideas, we’ll introduce her soon! And finally, we are now able to produce bespoke video animations for our clients to use for: education, companywide messaging and new employee induction.

Thank God 2020 is over and roll on 2021.
