Highlights from Study Tour 2023

The access2growth and LEAN FORUM NORDVEST Study Tour 2023 in Newcastle has come to a close, and we're excited to share the fantastic journey we've had. It was a big win, and it wouldn't have been possible without the incredible people and organisations who made it happen.

A heartfelt thank you goes out to our Norwegian friends who made the journey to Newcastle-Upon-Tyne. Your enthusiasm, insights, and team spirit were pivotal in making this event a success, and we're truly grateful for your contributions. You didn't just attend; you were an essential part of our experience.

Our guest speakers were nothing short of amazing - Roger Turvey, Frank Walsh, Tony Richards, Steve Pollard. They brought their A-game when it came to sustaining Lean principles, leadership, and continuous improvement. We've come away with new perspectives and tools thanks to their wisdom.

A round of applause to the companies that opened their doors to us - Essity, Ebac Ltd, Paragon Customer Communications we learned so much from the site visits. Your generosity in sharing your experiences is a testament to the Lean community's collaborative spirit.

As we look back on the Study Tour 2023, we're reminded of the power of bringing diverse minds together. It's the mix of ideas and perspectives that makes these events truly special. The Study Tour may be over, but the impact it's had on us is just beginning.

We extend our gratitude to everyone who played a role in making this event a success. Your support and enthusiasm keep us motivated to aim for excellence in all we do.

We asked a few of the delegates for their one-line takeaway from the Study Tour, and here’s what they told us:

  • Sustaining is about managing change

  • Sustaining is mostly getting more people involved

  • Sustaining is much tougher than implementing Lean

  • It needs excellent leadership

  • Success means developing a communication system like SQDCP

Stay tuned for more updates and insights from our journey, and thank you for being part of this incredible experience… we can’t wait for the next one!
